When a character's judgement card is about to take effect, you may replace it with a black card from your hand.

When you use or play a Dodge to negate an Attack, you may make another character perform a judgement; on a spade result, that character takes 2 thunder damage from you.

Lord only. During another Qun-kingdom character's play phase, once per that character's turn, that character may give you one Dodge or Lightning from their hand.

Zhang Jiao is a controller who fights with the deck's randomness, not against it. Occult Path lets him overwrite any judgement — his own or an enemy's — with a black card from hand, so Lightning strikes whoever he pleases, Festival Party and Supply Shortage land or fail on his say-so, and a Zhang Jiao holding black cards makes the whole judgement pile lie. Thundercall arms his defense: every Dodge he spends against an Attack can spin a judgement onto a rival, and a spade turns his survival into 2 thunder damage handed straight back. As Emperor, Yellow Heaven taxes the free-lances — once a turn each Qun character can be leaned on for a Dodge or a Lightning, feeding both his defense and his black-card engine. His weakness is a thin hand at 3 health: Occult Path and Thundercall both cost cards, so a table that drains his hand faster than he can refill strips his sorcery down to an ordinary 3-HP body, and a red-heavy judgement draw leaves him nothing to overwrite with.
