Zixing (-1 horse): offensive mount. Your attack/tactic range to all other seats is reduced by 1 — identical in effect to Red Hare. Only one offensive mount at a time.

Zixing was a Ferghana horse, the same stock the Dayuan card is named for, but this one has an owner: Cao Zhi acquired it in his father Cao Cao's day, trained it to kneel on command, and then wrote a memorial presenting it to his brother Cao Pi — by then emperor, and never once at ease with him. In play it is an offensive mount: every seat sits 1 closer to you, exactly as with Red Hare and Dayuan. That step matters least for Attacks and most for Steal and Supply Shortage, both locked to distance 1 whatever weapon you hold, so the mount is what turns the seat two away into the seat you can rob.

On an 8-player table the target worth having usually sits 2 or 3 seats off: let Zixing eat one step and a Serpent Spear (range 3) eat the rest, and half the ring falls inside your reach. Do not confuse it with Ma Chao's Horsemanship — that adds attack range, while a mount cuts real distance; they stack for Attacks, but only the mount extends a Steal. And if you are Da Qiao, think before equipping: this card's printed face is the diamond King, which Beguile turns into a Festival Party on any seat at the table.

Distance never falls below 1, so an offensive mount buys him nothing against the player already sitting beside him — the one who should worry is the player two seats away, who has just dropped into Steal range. If that is you, wear a defensive mount and the two steps cancel exactly, or Dismantle or Steal Zixing straight out of his horse slot. Negate is no help here: equipping is not a trick.
