Once per play phase, you may pindian another player: both stake a hand card, higher rank wins. If you win, this turn you may use one extra Attack, your Attacks have no distance limit, and one Attack may name an extra target; if you do not win, you cannot use Attack this turn.

Heaven's Wager is a real gamble with a real payoff. Once per play phase he picks an opponent and both stake a hand card face-down; higher rank wins, and a tie counts as a loss for him. Win and the turn breaks open three ways at once: one extra Attack, no distance limit at all, and one of those Attacks may name an extra target. Lose and he cannot use Attack for the rest of the turn — the single harshest downside attached to any active skill. So the stake is the whole skill. Fire it with a King or a Queen you were never going to play, against the opponent holding the FEWEST cards, since the fewer they hold the lower their likely maximum. Never wager a card you would rather have kept, and never wager at all unless you have an Attack in hand to spend the win on. Paired with the Heavenly Halberd the extra-target perks stack, and one won pindian can turn a single Attack into a four-seat volley.
