Open your profile, tap your picture and choose Upload a photo. The image is shrunk to a small square on your device before it is sent — the original never leaves your phone — and it then shows next to your name on the rankings board and on the seat card other players see for you. Shuffle still gives you a pixel face, and picking a face or your Google photo again removes the uploaded one.
When someone is dying, every seat that could play a Peach is now asked at the same time and may answer in any order, instead of being asked one seat after another. The Emperor's Rally and Royal Guard calls work the same way. While a call is open, everyone at the table sees which seats are still deciding.
Sidestep no longer offers a skip that buys nothing
Zhang He's Sidestep used to open all four skip prompts every turn, including the ones where paying a hand card could gain nothing: no delayed trick sitting on you to dodge at judgement, nobody holding a card to take at draw, no card on the field anywhere to move at play, or a hand already inside your limit at discard. Those prompts no longer appear, so you are never asked to spend a card for nothing.
Ascension, Breakthrough, Legacy, Feigned Folly and Renewal each mention another skill by name without saying what it does. The in-game details panel and the hero pages now list every skill they mention underneath, with the hero it belongs to and its full text; tap one to read it.

Pick your profile face with Shuffle
Open your profile and tap your picture to choose a face. Press Shuffle until you like the pixel face you get, then Use this — or switch back to your Google photo. A pixel face you pick appears next to your name on the rankings board and on the seat card other players see for you, while a Google photo stays in your own profile; the faces are drawn inside the game, so nothing extra has to load.
On desktop the hero-skill buttons, Your hand and Advance now share one row along the bottom edge, the way they already do on phones. Advance is no longer a separate button pinned over the board's corner, and the Logs, Reads and Chat buttons moved to the bottom-right of the table. The board itself gains a little height.
It used to list the most recent games from everyone on the server, with the winner shown only as a seat number, so you were reading strangers' matches. It now shows your own games — the hero you played, your role, win or loss, the MVP mark, ranked points gained or lost, and the heroes the other players were using. Filter to Ranked or Solo, load older games, and open the log of any match.
Your profile now leads with your name, avatar and current standing, then four tiles — games, win rate, wins–losses and MVP count — followed by your three most-played heroes. Match History and Rankings sit side by side, and the leaderboard-name field is now tucked behind a pencil button.
Smoother board, and table effects you can switch off
The table used to re-measure and resize itself many times a match, and the board hitched each time — worst on phones and in the app; that resizing is gone. Six pieces of the table dressing are now tick boxes under Settings → Table effects: table shadow & vignette, map on the cloth, cloth grain, bronze rail pattern, tent pennants and ambient motion. On phones the table shadow starts switched off — tick it back on if your phone can carry it.
Fire Attack is now Fire Ships, Fire Slash is Fire Arrow, and Thunder Slash is Thunderbolt, each with new card art. Only the names and the pictures changed — every rule about these three cards is exactly as it was.
One row of buttons on phones, and a log that scrolls in the app
In the Android app the game log would not scroll — the app's pull-to-refresh kept taking the drag. Pull-to-refresh now stays off for as long as a panel is open, so the log, chat and hand panels all scroll normally. On phones the bottom controls are also now a single row — hero skill, Your hand, Advance — which hands more height back to the table, and Logs, Reads and Chat moved into a small icon strip in the table's bottom-right corner, replacing the pull tab that used to sit at the bottom edge.
A dropped connection no longer costs you your seat
If your connection flaps mid-match you now have 20 seconds instead of 5 before a bot takes over, and you get your seat back as soon as you reconnect — including on networks where it previously never came back at all. A room everyone has left now plays itself out and closes, so the app stops pulling you into a game you had already finished with. The board also no longer flickers when a bot plays a card, and a screen left idle no longer paints somebody else's match over your lobby.
Sun Ce, Zhou Tai, Jiang Wei, Pang Tong, Zhang He and nine more join the deal, taking the roster from 43 heroes to 57. They are dealt in solo games and in rooms alike, each with their own skills on the seat card, and every hero on the roster now has their own portrait.
The seat draw in games against bots was not really random: at the default three bots you were dealt the Emperor every single game, and at seven bots you were locked to a seat that is never the Emperor. Friend rooms were affected too — in most room sizes the host could never land in seat one. Seats, and therefore roles, are now genuinely random every game.
